George Smith is an artist living and working in Worcester, Massachusetts. Originally from Maine, he studied Illustration and Art History at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA. His work has appeared in Artists Magazine, online exhibitions, and in gallery spaces in Maine and Massachusetts.

Artist’s Statement: Exploration and home are at the foundation of my practice. My work reflects a love of being outdoors; the vast majority of my artworks are either inspired by simple iPhone photographs that I took while walking around my community, or were painted from direct observation. Particularly, I am drawn to seemingly mundane locations in which natural and human-made light evoke feelings of effortless beauty and timelessness.
